Orthovisc

Orthovisc is an injectable viscosupplement that reduces knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. Orthovisc 15 mg/ml syringe contains a high concentration of purified hyaluronic acid. Orthovisc injection is delivered into the knee joint, providing effective results with only 2 or 4 injections that can last up to 6 months.

Indications

• Osteoarthritis (OA) knee pain treatment 

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to hyaluronate preparations
• Allergies to avian or avian-derived products (including eggs, feathers, or poultry)
• Skin infections near the injection area.

Instructions for Use

• For professional use only, to be administered by a qualified specialist.
• Remove any joint effusion before injection.
• Inject slowly into the selected joint using a sterile, disposable hypodermic needle. The physician determines the appropriate needle.
• Injection volume depends on joint size: up to 2 mL for the knee and other large joints, and up to 1 mL for small joints.
• Recommended treatment: 3 injections, one week apart per course.
